Our mission

Our mission is to provide impactful evidenced-based speech, language and communication services that maximise children’s communication potential. Children will be more able to access the curriculum and progress academically, emotionally and socially. We will provide the right support at the right time, without long waits for an assessment. Specific and measurable targets are put in place to help each child succeed.

Are you a school?

We understand the difficulties and barriers schools have accessing Speech and Language Therapy Services. Just take a moment to think about the impact of having easy, consistent and ‘on tap’ support from an expert in your school.

Our therapists are here to give you immediate support, complete timely assessments and reports, to help secure funding and to empower your workforce. We can reduce your workload. We complete onward referrals.

We organise meetings. We plan and deliver intervention. We set and review targets. We work closely with SENCos and Senior Leaders to develop bespoke packages of support that suit your specific needs.

Since using More Than Talk our whole approach to providing support to our SEN children with SLCN has been transformed.

Reports have been used to gain Early Years Inclusion Fund and to gain EHCP’s; this year alone we have had 3 children gain level 3 funding for EYIF by submitting More Than Talk assessments and all our EHCPs have been successful.

More Than Talk able to observe and assess a child in school on the same day, with no need for parents to worry about taking their child to an appointment.

The therapists are personable and flexible in their approach; they work well with all our staff and we see them as part of our school family.

Our teachers are gaining invaluable CPD by implementing recommended strategies and our quality first teaching has improved for all students.

Leanne herself has delivered various staff meetings, looking at how we can improve our universal offer to children, e.g. we have started to introduce colourful semantics across classes.

We understand that parents do not always want to wait long periods for assessments and therapy. We will help you to help your child. We want you to feel supported, listened to and less frustrated.

Leanne gave us simple but highly effective advice for helping him. She explained the basics of speech development to us, and how our previous efforts may have been backfiring.

She has a natural gift with children and it’s always a pleasure to see her. It is great having the therapy in our home, so that she works within their environment and with the whole family.

After our first assessment the therapist confirmed what I thought was a serious speech delay/concentration issue. Her patience and knowledge on how to handle my son’s behaviour problems amazed me from day one. 

My son enjoyed the sessions with Leanne, he really built up a special bond with her.

Leanne has worked with both our children, age 8 and 5. She has provided us with therapy for their lisps. She has helped us understand how best to help them and how they can help themselves.
